Cedar Point

We went to Cedar Point on Wednesday. Despite two bouts of rain, we still had a good time.
Brian and Jalyssa took to the skies with the big roller coasters, while Blake and I hung close to the ground.
I'm afraid of heights so that works out for me. Although they did force me onto the Giant Ferris Wheel and the Gondola. Yikes, too scary for me!

Here's some pics:

Jalyssa and Brian after going on the Gemini.
Blake and Brian and Charlie Brown.
Brian and I in the back seat of an antique car driven by Jalyssa.
All 3 after going on Thunder Canyon, the big storm started right after this picture, about 8pm, they were already wet. I got just as wet as they were walking through the downpour.
Blake taking driving a monster truck very seriously.

Long Week

Just playing at the studio. Aren't they just precious? I'm VERY biased of course. But they ARE just so adorable!

It's been a long week! Friday came fast but the week was long.
Today seemed like Saturday for some reason.
It was the first full week since the kids have been out of school. Maybe that's why.
I've been at the studio a lot and it will only get busier.
Adjusting to a "work" schedule is strange.
But things are going well. I'll be extremely busy with the senior season starting soon.

The kids are loving summer break. Playing in the Slip n Slide and little pool. Even with the hot humid days we've been having they are still on the go.

Looking forward to a cooler weekend in the 70's and sunny.
Maybe we'll get out the fire pit and have Smore's tomorrow night!

A Bat for Blake's birthday?

No really! A Bat decided to hang by our back door in the wee morning hours of Blake's birthday. This is the second time that we've seen a bat in this corner, the other time was on Halloween! Eerie! Isn't it cute! It's peeking at me with one eye open. My sister was freaking out because I was getting so close to get a picture.
She thought it was a giant bug at first. LOL!

Then in the evening we went to Chuck E Cheese's for Blake's 6th birthday.
He had a great time.

His feet barely touch the pedals, but he drove pretty well!

Dad's turn!

Time to go home. Everyone is happy!

My, My how time has flown

Lots to update, I'm way behind : )
Blake had a field trip at the end of May. We went to a Pony Farm in Holland.

Here he is feeding a goat. Surprisingly he didn't hesitate too much when going up to feed it. He even fed it a second time. Any one who knows Blake, knows he is a bit shy around animals, ALL animals big or little, caged or not, he typically fears them!

Petting a baby chick.

On a tractor hay ride with his buddy Bryant.

Riding a pony named Cinnamon.

Jalyssa also had an end of the year thing... a choir concert.
Here's is a quick snap shot of her before the performance.

It's JUNE!

Wow, I can't believe it's June already. It's kind of a mix between "Yay it's June" and a "WHOA it's JUNE ALREADY?!?"

Blake will be 6 tomorrow, June 3rd. He's grown so fast. He's a happy, super active little boy.
Not the rough kind of little boy though. The nice kind.
He often plays with our neighbors little kids, a 1 year old girl Grace, who he adores and a almost 2 year old boy Caden, who he also thinks is very fun to play with. He one day hopes to babysit these kids. But in the meantime just loves playing hide and seek with them.
Today he had Field Day at his school and did very well. He said he had lots of fun. They all had Snow Cones afterwards, which was perfect because it was almost 80 degrees out.

Well to update the last couple weeks....we went camping at Ludington State Park over the Memorial Day weekend. It was a nice weekend for it. It was a bit windy at times though. But the sun was out.
Brian, Gina and Blake went to the top of the Big Sable Lighthouse and it was so windy Brian had to hold onto Blake for fear he'd be blown off!
YIKES, I'm glad I wasn't up there! I stayed on the bottom with Brian's dad and we shared and Milky Way, hee-hee!
We saw lots of deer and even a grey fox while walking on one of the trails.
I'm post some pics of the trip later.

School is almost done, this Friday is the last day. The kids are ready for summer.
Probably Jalyssa more than Blake, since he loves school.
I really can't believe their school year is over. It went fast. I wish I could go back a few months.
Blake already being done with Kindergarten just amazes me.
He'll start soccer in the fall for the first time. Jalyssa will play tennis again in the fall. It'll be busy, busy, busy!
Better enjoy the summer while it lasts!

Playing around with J

This was just playing around.
Just shows how much she's grown though.

My nephew's first tee ball game

A week ago my 6 year old nephew had his first tee ball game.
He's the one with the bright orange pants!

He caught his first ball! It just popped right up into his glove!

Here he is up to bat, he sticks out his little tongue every time he hits the ball or runs the bases.

A new chapter...

I have been blessed with an opportunity of a life time.
I am now in a partnership with the owner of the House of Photography.
And over the years I will eventually take over the business completely when he's ready to retire.
I'm so excited.
I wouldn't be where I am today without the teachings from this man.

Brian is totally on board and excited as well. We helped out with a Prom recently and that was fun. It was my first prom ever... even though I didn't get to dress in a formal dress, it was still a fun experience and Ron, my teacher/business partner took a couple pics of Brian and I "for my first prom."

The kids don't really get what is going on. But Blake has noticed mommy has been gone more.
I think he will have the most issues adjusting. He thinks mommy's aren't supposed to work.
Only because I've been home with him since his birth.

So a lot of adjustments. I lot of excitement.
I'm looking forward to this new venture in my life.
